Note:”Flowey and Friends” is not a real game. It’s an alternative way Undertale could have happened.
Hey dudes! Nova here, and welcome back to Flowey and Friends! Last time, we met Flowey and Toriel, and this time, we’ll be following her to see what she has to show us!
Anyways, Waterbound asked me to look at the game’s manual on my last video. I looked, and, well, they were right about there being gags! Mostly involving Toriel. I think it’s supposed to be making fun of those “Take a break” screens on the Wii? She also even made some food and put it in the next page. (Aw!)
And, at the end, Flowey says he’s excited to meet us again. So we definitely have been here before.
But, back to the game!
————————-
*You encountered the Dummy.
Flowey:…Uh, Toriel? I’m not sure the human knows how to ACT on the Dummy?
Toriel:Didn’t they ACT with the signs and me?
Flowey:No, Toriel! I mean in a FIGHT! Talking in a FIGHT works differently!
Flowey:The human has to use the ARROW KEYS to select between options, and press Z when “ACT” is selected! Then they’ll have a list of different ACTs they can choose from, again with the ARROW KEYS and Z! Talking is one of those ACTions. So remember:To talk, is to ACT.
Just like the manual says, though I guess it’d be too hard to have the game check if I read that. Plus the game seems to be making fun of tutorials, maybe this only happens if I already read the manual? But I guess I’ll talk to the dummy like they’re saying.
————————
You have done excellently thus far, my child.
My only real choice was whether or not to talk to the Dummy or the Froggit! Well, maybe I could have gotten the switch wrong? You did the rest for me, Toriel! But that’s game tutorials for you!
But, I have a difficult request for you.
Oh no! Is she going to make us use an item? Save our game? Or even... equip some armor?
I would like you to walk to the end of this room by yourself. Forgive me for this.
Oh no, not that! I have to hold the right arrow key? NOT THE RIGHT ARROW KEY!!
*laugh* Do doo, do doo do, do do! The final challenge, I just can’t take this seriously, Toriel! But in just a few years, thsi’ll probably be the real state of tutorials. Besides them being twice as along!
———————-
She’s probably going to have been there the whole time too, right?
Greetings, my child!
She actually was!
——————-
Be good, alright?
Flowey:Howdy! Well, while we’re waiting for Toriel to come back, I figured maybe we should chat to pass the time!
I’m sorry we didn’t get to do much. I didn’t think she’d be THAT overbearing! Don’t worry, past the RUINs is when the REAL fun begins.
Anyway, what was it that brought you back here? Did you just want to see the magic again? Did you hear me calling you? …I guess you don’t have to answer that yet, you’re still getting used to the new underground.
It’s actually pretty funny. Her tutorials all rely on her doing everything! If a monster attacked while she wasn’t there, her lessons would be useless! And she’ll act like she’s giving thorough advice, but she doesn’t even explain how to ACT! She’s leaving SO much out! Don’t worry, though. Your best friend will explain the rest!
…Say, tell you what? Why don’t we just leave early? I’m sure she’ll understand. You won’t even be alone, you’ll have me! And if you encounter a monster, that’ll be the perfect opportunity for me to show you how to REALLY befriend them! Come on, let’s go!
(Flowey burrows underground)
Hm, who should we listen to? Toriel or Flowey? I wish there was a save point right here. I’m ending this part here, but I’m going to record the next part right after this! So, don’t comment who I should listen to, by the time this video comes out I’ve already recorded Part 3. Just wait and see who I choose!
