Note:”Flowey and Friends” is not a real game, it’s an alternative way Undertale could’ve happened.
Hey all! Nova here, and it’s time we finish this demo!
Well, at least I think? Everything’s been telling me this boss fight would be the end of the demo, but you never really know. Anyway, Waterbound made an interesting theory on the last episode, about “Underbound 2”, and Flowey perhaps remembering us from the non-existent first “Underbound”. If this is actually what’s going on, I’m not sure whether to be impressed with him for leaving the twist under our noses, or… uh
I think we’ll just have to see when the full game comes out. I know there’s something going on with either us or Flowey, and whatever it is will probably become very important.
But for now, I’m going back to Toriel’s house, to see if Flowey was able to pre-
Wait, Flowey, you’re at the front?
Flowey:Oh! Nova, I wasn’t expecting you to get back here so fast!
Let me guess:No matter how long I was away from there it’d always be too soon.
I’ve tried to work out a way to prove to her that you should leave, but it really hasn’t been working out!
Wait a moment, Toriel is in the basement, what are you doing here?
So I’ve been waiting here trying to think of another angle…
Okay, I guess that makes sense.
But I still got nothing!
Hmm… maybe you can get to her, though! You’ve tried attacking before, right? What if you spared her instead?
I believe in you! You’ve gave hope to those who were afraid before! You can do this, Nova!
You know, Waterbound might be onto something… Who exactly did we give hope TO, exactly?
Are there other talking flowers somewhere? Where did Flowey even come from anyway? I can really see why Waternova thinks that Flowey was from another game before ending up here. One that would have took place underground, since Flowey did mention the underground is different this time around.
Good luck! (*Flowey burrows into the ground*)
Anyway, it looks like that’s the end of the line, and Flowey can’t help us. I figured so, it’d be too easy if we could just skip the boss, after all.
So, I’m ready to try again with Toriel. Okay, looks like the dialogue is the same, yadada- huh?
Toriel:…Even still… While what he said is true… the danger out there is all too real. So, I ask that you prove to me that you are strong enough to survive.
..Okay, so it shortened up a bit. So, we’re back in the fight.
So, Flowey told us to try sparing instead. I guess he didn’t tell Toriel to do the fighting thing from earlier. I could try doing that again and see if he comments on that, but for now I’ll do the sparing thing.
(The rest of the fight appears to work the same way it did in Undertale. Up until..)
Toriel:We can live a good life here.
Flowey:…Really? Did you just FORGET why we left the RUINs in the first place?
Flowey:If everyone left… perhaps it’s that this place wasn’t enough. I already told you they weren’t happy here… and here they are trying to leave.
Flowey:Once you get used to this place, it gets small. That’s why everyone here’s been trying to find a way out of here. Not just out of the ruins, but out of the underground entirely!
Toriel:…We cannot let the king’s plan succeed. He would simply go out and kill humanity. Are we clear on this?
Flowey:Sure we are! I’m not going to let my best friend die! But you can see why they want to leave, right?
Toriel:Hmm…
Toriel:You both make a fair point.
Both of us? I didn’t even say anything!
Toriel:My child… you probably would be unhappy just staying here. It would not be right for a child like you to grow up in a place like this.
If you truly wish to leave the RUINS... I will not stop you. However, when you leave... Please do not come back. I hope you understand. Goodbye, my child.
Flowey:Uh… I don’t think I understand. Wouldn’t you WANT us to come visit you? Let you know we’re still alive?
Toriel:…Look… I just don’t want to have to say goodbye a second time… It took me a lot to set my loneliness aside once… I don’t know if I could do it all again…
Flowey:Hmm… I guess that makes sense! Hey, what if I come visit you instead from time to time? While they’re going to be leaving for good, I’m still here for you all!
Toriel:That would leave the human alone, though.
Flowey:And they survived against you without any of my help! But you do make a point. I should stick with them! See you after it’s over!
That last part of the conversation seems like it just went nowhere. Is Flowey going to change his mind at some point or something? Because if he isn’t, I’m not sure what Toby was going for with that last part.
(Flowey turns from facing Toriel to facing Frisk.)
Flowey:But before we do go to the surface, we should see what the rest of the underground has to offer. That is why you came back, isn’t it?
Okay, how does that make sense? I was apparently here before, why would he think I came to explore a place I already explored? The Underbound theory is getting more and more plausible by the minute… Is the download page canon to the game or something? Does Flowey know we’re in a video game?
Well, time to go through the door.
——————
Flowey:Well… this is it. Through that tunnel is the rest of the underground. The real fun is going to start here!
Flowey:You solved everything peacefully, just like I knew you would! Just keep it up, and you’ll make lots of friends here!
Flowey:Who knows? Maybe you’ll even like this place so much, you won’t even want to leave!
Is that a choice I’ll have to make? Is there a different ending for each choice?
Well, onwards!

[Flowey and Friends]
Papyrus:PSST. IS IT OUR TURN TO SHOW UP NOW?
Sans:no, not yet.
*chuckle* Wait a moment, does everyone know this is a game? Is this all an act and we’re going to see how it all falls apart?
That’s really not what I was expecting! Not after the Halloween Hack!
Papyrus:REALLY!? WHEN ARE WE GONNA SHOW UP?
Sans:well, this is just a demo, so…
Sans:never?
Papyrus:WHAT!! YOU’RE RIBBING ME!!
Oh, this is just a joke because the demo’s over. Huh, the demo’s over! This is going to be the last episode! …Unless I explore more routes!
———————
Sans:nobody, papyrus. wink.
*Flowey appears on the screen*
Flowey:Wait, are you serious? This was all just a demo?! And it’s over?!
Flowey:So that means we don’t get to see the rest of the underground?!
Flowey:…Well, I guess it makes sense for the game developers to come out with a demo before they release the full game.
Flowey:Maybe even as a way to see if the game is right for you before you pay money for the full game.
Flowey:But I just can’t wait for the full game to come out. When it does, can you get it? I REALLY want you to see the rest of what the underground has to offer. It’s where things REALLY kick up a notch.
Really, this was the WORST possible time the demo could have ended. We were JUST about to meet two REALLY funny skeletons. Why did he have to do this to us?
Well, see you in the full game, Nova! (Flowey burrows back underground)
Well, that was… something.
So, it looks like next is where Sans and Papyrus would be, who were right after Toriel in that list of friends on the download page. I don’t really know what to think of all of this…
Well, I guess I’ll just… end the episode here. Leave a like and smash that subscribe button, and comment on whether I should try doing another route! Nova, out!
