- Introduction
Taigatale is an Undertale AU developed and created by AstralPastels. This story takes place in an alternative universe where the HUMANS sealed the MONSTERS away in the taigas instead of the underground, hence its name, Taigatale. AstralPastels wanted to create an alternate universe that explored deeper into the culture of monsterkind, while still maintaining the basic aspects of the story we all know and love, adding new ones as well as breathtaking scenery.
The MONSTERS quickly discovered they were not the only inhabitants of the taiga, when a MONSTER was struck down by a shadowy foe. These are corrupted animals known as OVERTHROWN. The HUMANS captured the wildlife of the taiga during the war between HUMANS AND MONSTERS, and injected them with HATE. They thought they had created a super weapon, until their own creations turned against them and slaughtered the laboratory. The HUMANS took another approach on the war completely, knowing they couldn't let these things wreak havoc through the village, they sealed both the MONSTERS and OVERTHROWN into the taiga, hoping the OVERTHROWN would fulfill their intent..
The OVERTHROWN are capable of infecting a MONSTER or HUMAN. Depending on the severity of the wound, the victim will be capable of maintaining their HUMAN or MONSTER form at times. Or they will be stuck as a corrupted creature.
