Twilighttale - Alternative Universe of Undertale, in which the action takes place in a different and more technological Twilight World, where totalitarianism is the main form of government. Asgore is still the ruler of the monsters, but now he has no goal to free his people from imprisonment, but on the contrary, to destroy the Earth so that it becomes the same lifeless wasteland as the Twilight World. In many ways, this AU is based on Russian, Chinese and Japanese cultures, combined with the theme of a far dystopian future.

The main characters, whose murder or mercy affects the final outcome of events in different ways.

Frisk[]

Character is mentioned ONLY in the masculine gender!

A person looking for a purpose in life. Almost all of his childhood was shrouded in war. Even then he was taught to kill and not spare his enemies. So, he once climbed a mountain, where he found an ancient Gates leading to another dimension. Activating them, he was literally pulled inside by an unknown force, after which he woke up up to his ears in the sand, from which he quickly got out and began to look around. And so his journey in the Twilight World began.

Breeze a.k.a. Sans[]

Papyrus[]

Elite Imperial guardian, that protects Citadel and he goes on the most difficult and dangerous tasks to eliminate the enemies of the regime. Wears white power armor with bright orange lines. As the main weapon, he uses an orange energy spear that causes huge damage and is able to pierce through the armor of tanks.

Gaster[]

A former imperial scientist who rebelled against his own ruler and is now hiding in his bunker, located somewhere in the Frozen Wasteland. He is the creator of cybernetically modified soldiers and high-frequency weapons. Meeting with Gaster is impossible almost all the way, but at the very end, when the main character gets into the Citadel, Gaster arranges a mutiny and breaks aboard the spaceship, after which the main character loses consciousness and goes into "stasis".

Asgore[]

Emperor of Twilight World, leader of monsters.

Asriel[]

A mechanic from the Snezhnegradsk, who, unlike almost all other monsters, has a positive attitude towards the humans, even on the contrary, helping protagonist and giving him weapons, ammunition and other consumables. At the first meeting, he cordially welcomes the main character, after which he gives him the task to find some parts for his broken flying car. When the task is completed, he sets them in place, after which he explains to the protagonist that he needs a few more spare parts for the next order, after which he brings the main character to the Swamp, where they look for parts together. After all this, he flies away in his car, saying before that the words "We will definitely meet again."

Minor characters[]

BARS aka AARS.[]

BARS (rus. БАРС; Боевой Автоматический Роботизированный Солдат) (eng. ACR-S; Automatic Combat Robot-Soldier) - is a combat imperial exo-soldier attacking the protagonist at the Volcano location. It looks like a skeleton-type monster, completely plastered with cybernetic equipment and connected with thick steel wires to a large robot exoskeleton. As the main weapon, the "Barsik" uses his huge titanium reactive axe-chainsaw, with which he can easily punch through enemy blocks.

FL0-NO-WAY[]

Mettatank MK-II[]

Mettatank MK-II - is a futuristic and very high-tech unmanned imperial tank armed with two photon cannons, a pulse machine gun and energy shields. The tank 's armor is made of titanium and has a thickness of 2.7 cm. Similar tanks are manufactured in factories in the Wasteland under the command of Gaster. In total, about 170 units were produced. The first "battle" with an unmanned vehicle takes place in one of the hangars, where the main character is surrounded by other cyborg soldiers. In a battle with a machine, you need to fire at it from homing grenade launchers, and when the shield falls, chop down the tank tower with a high-frequency sword.

Locations[]

Ancient Gates[]

An ancient portal connecting Earth and the Twilight World. To activate it, 7 charged energy crystals are required, which will be able to saturate the arch with energy and open the portal. In addition, the portal can also be opened to any Alternate Universe or any of its timelines, of course, if there are such Gates there. As soon as the protagonist enters the Twilight World, the arch of the Gate breaks, and the portal closes, which cuts off his way back and forces him to look for a new way to go back, which is why his path begins.

Ruins[]

Abandoned place, the walls of which are built of cinder block, and the floors and ceilings are sealed with improvised means, for example, already rusted and rotten from time sheets of metal. There are practically no enemies on the location, with the exception of a few wild Froggits. Some halls have scaffolding, tool boxes and white paint. As it turns out later, Imperial workers were going to restore this place soon and place a secret government bunker here. At the exit from the Ruins there is a block-post, where, fortunately for Frisk, no one was on duty at that time.

Frozen Wasteland[]

Snezhnegradsk aka Snowdin[]

A small town on the very edge of a Frozen Wasteland, referring to a typical Russian city. There are several panel nine-storey buildings, an abandoned factory, Asriel`s workshop and a huge hangar of Sans and Papyrus in the suburbs. It is here that the first meeting with Asriel takes place, which gives the protagonist the task of finding some parts for his flying car in an abandoned factory. The main character goes there, and after a short battle with Civil Protection soldiers, finally finds the cherished spare parts and brings them to Asriel, helping him install the parts in the right place, after which, both characters leave the city and go to the Swamp, where they need to find some spare parts for the next order.

Notes[]

  • Twilight World - a very distant planet, in many ways resembling Earth, but unlike it, almost completely turned into a lifeless wasteland due to its harsh climate. In the Twilight World, there are also anomalies, such as stone forests or floating islands. At the time of AU's history, only a third of the entire planet has been explored, but already during this time, monsters have managed to develop and build some kind of civilization, which is completely controlled by Asgore and his associates.
