Undersource is an AU where a dirty hacker (possibly the Player) hacks the world of Undertale altering the resets and consequences. For example, deceased monsters do not turn to dust but instead leave glitched corpses in their place. Too, it shows the existence of a creature with human form (and a resemblance to Chara) and traits of some monsters called Hacked Chara that further infects the code.

Sans attempts to stop that creature by making his attacks faster, erratic, and unpredictable but fails, with Hacked infecting his right eye in the process. Too, Sans attempted to kill the creature by killing it at Snowdin's entrance but failed due to the power of the RESET.

Fortunately, for Sans (now called Necros), he now has new abilities (apparently, from the virus) and is on a mission to go for the AUs to stop Hacked once and for all.
