Welcome to the Undertale AU Wiki, the main place for documenting Undertale's AUs. If you wish to contribute, just know that it is REQUIRED for you to read the Rules and Guidelines and the Policy of the Wiki BEFORE doing so.

As this is an AU Wiki, this wiki is NOT meant for characters. The Undertale OC Wiki exists for those. This Wiki is also not meant for AUs that do not have presence anywhere else, and those should be put on the Undertale AU Ideas Wiki.

UnderLove is an AU created by Radicalrainbow, based on the renowned role-playing game Undertale. In the universe of Underlove, the struggle between love and hate shapes its story. It introduces a unique twist with love-centric magic and the contrasting power of hate. Characters’ appearances are heart-themed, adorned in shades of pinks, reds, and whites, with frilly trims, fluffy details, and prominent heart motifs embracing a Valentine's/Lovecore theme.

Yet, this AU can show more than just one side of the coin.

History of the Underground:

Long ago, humans and monsters lived separately and in disarray upon the surface. Humans were known for their ruthlessness, hostility, and HATE, which led them to push the kind and loving monsters away.

Tragedy struck one night when the king’s life was brutally taken, leading Asgore to ascend to the throne. Blinded by his own growing anger, Asgore sought to avenge his father, and the once kind and loving monsters turned hostile as war was declared against the humans.

The war raged on, with magic clashing and bodies falling. Eventually, humans emerged victorious, and with the help of a powerful mage, they sealed the monsters underground. The Underground was filled with despair and darkness, but the magic of LOVE gradually began to bloom again, restoring harmony among the monsters.

The royal family made certain that their people remained full of LOVE, fearing the resurgence of HATE that had swept the surface. Royal guards were tasked with protecting the Underground by preserving love and happiness, removing those who began to corrupt with hatred, and dealing with any humans who entered their realm.

Chara’s Arrival:

After many years after banishment, their peace was interrupted when a human named Chara fell into their midst, seeking refuge from human cruelty.

The Dreemurr family adopted Chara despite their initial wariness, it came to be the best decision of their lives as the two kids grew up together.

Tragically, Chara fell terminally ill from consuming red rose seeds, causing them to cough up petals and roses. Before the illness could fully silence them, Chara expressed a dying wish to see the surface sky one last time.

Asriel, their adoptive brother, absorbed Chara's soul and carried them through the barrier that separated their world from the humans. However, upon reaching the surface, they were met with misunderstanding and rage, resulting in the tragic demise of both Asriel and Chara.

The Dreemurr family, torn apart by the loss of their beloved children, decreed that any human who fell into their realm would be imprisoned in the depths of their castle dungeon.

Characters[]

Rosey/Flowey[]

Rosey is the first character Frisk encounters in the Underground, just like his counterpart. He was set to providing guidance for Frisk through the Ruins yet due to Rosey’s prior corruption, he lashes out and disappears after Frisk attacks.

Frisk[]

Frisk is the eighth fallen human, beginning their journey with a rough exterior, unkind and defensive. As they explore the Underground, they gradually learn about love and compassion from the monsters they encounter. Frisk's transformation is marked by their growing ability to understand and spread LOVE despite being a human.

Chara and Asriel[]

Chara, the first fallen human, initially carries remnants of human HATE. Their sarcasm is balanced with genuine sweetness, especially after being adopted by the Dreemurr family. Chara’s clothing reflects a mix of heart and thorn motifs, symbolizing their inner conflict and eventual acceptance of love.

Asriel, the gentle son of Asgore and Toriel, deeply loved his family and Chara. He aspired to set a positive example for his people. His attire, decorated with heart motifs, symbolizes his desire to lead with love. After their tragic deaths, the Underground erected a statue to honor Chara and Asriel's memory.

This statue is a place where monsters offer gifts and tokens of affection, showing that Chara and Asriel are still loved even in their absence.

Sans and Papyrus[]

Sans, the laid-back older brother of Papyrus, maintains his humorous and lazy personality, yet he is more expressive and outgoing, mirroring his brother's charisma. Instead of drinking ketchup like his Undertale counterpart, he sips on strawberry syrup. A distinct feature is his left eye socket, which glows with a bright red heart, being his SOUL.

Papyrus, the charismatic and energetic younger brother of Sans, is a dedicated member of the Royal Guard. He exudes boundless energy and positivity, always striving to protect the Underground and promote LOVE. Papyrus takes great pride in his culinary talents, often serving heart-shaped dishes, including his famous but slightly burnt heart-shaped steak dinners.

He has passed down his dating guide to Sans, frequently acting as a mentor while he no longer needs it himself. Rumor has it that Papyrus is romantically involved with Mettaton, the glamorous "Cupid Robot."

King Asgore and Queen Toriel[]

Asgore, once a king driven by rage and desire for vengeance, is now a gentle and compassionate leader who seeks to protect his subjects. He carries the weight of the past on his shoulders, striving to make amends for his past actions while ensuring his people are happy. He’s often referred to as the Underground’s father, being close to his subjects despite being the King.

Toriel stands beside Asgore as the queen, believing in the inherent goodness of all while working tirelessly to create a sense of belonging for her subjects. She wears clothing fit for comfort, often not adorn in her crown to show she is no different than her people. She often wanders from place to place, taking the ruins as a second home.

Mettaton[]

Mettaton is a confident, charismatic, and charming TV host who loves drama, action, and romance. He thrives on his ratings and adores match-making monsters on his show. Like his Undertale counterpart, he is a robot with a SOUL and was built by Alphys. Initially created to help monsters find love, Mettaton later took on the role of defending the Underground against humans.

Mettaton is the sole television star in the Underground, known as the "Cupid Robot" for his popular show where he helps monsters find their true soulmates on live TV.

His glamorous persona and heart-themed design make him a beloved figure among the monsters. Rumor has it that while Mettaton helps others find love, he himself has already found it with someone special-Papyrus, who has appeared multiple times on his cooking shows, adding a touch of romance and excitement to the Underground.

Dr. Alphys and Undyne[]

Alphys is a brilliant scientist but struggles with deep-seated insecurities and anxieties. Despite her intelligence, she often doubts her abilities and fears rejection.

She is known for her nervous tendencies and tendency to overthink situations, but her caring nature shines through in her genuine desire to help others and the love she has for her future wife Undyne.

Undyne is a fierce and loyal warrior who fights tirelessly to protect her friends and the people of the Underground. Beneath her tough exterior lies a heart of gold, as she expresses her love and devotion to Alphys. Undyne's journey is one of self-discovery and growth, as she learns to embrace her softer side and find strength in vulnerability.
