Template and Pale is an AU where Error and Ink have swapped personalities. Template (Template!Error) protects the AUs while Pale (Pale!Ink) drains them of their life so he can get feelings. Template accidentally messes with the normal storyline in AUs while he is trying to protect them, but he goes to AUs occasionally, so, it happens often. Template and Pale aren't enemies and they don't hate each other, but they aren't friends. Template doesn't actually want to kill Pale, because he feels like he needs an enemy to save AUs from. Template even occasionally protects Pale. So, you could say, they are Frenemies.

Just like Error, Template started all alone in the Anti Void without knowing where he was or how he got there. He soon discovered he could open portals to almost every AU in the multiverse and started to follow and watch the various timelines in each of them. He admired the variety and different turns of every universe and instead of destroying them, he decided that he wanted to preserve them. He actively visits AUs, but often interferes without being aware that he might cause problems by doing so. Overall, however, he's cheerful and optimistic. He sometimes jumps at people and 'fanboys' at them, he also tends to monologue and talk too much. Template also likes to act what he thinks is 'cool', but for outsiders this probably seems ridiculous or unfitting most of the time. He knows almost every AU and out-code out there and heavily idolizes Ink, which is why he's mimicking his outfit to a certain extent. He sees himself as the good guy, so he doesn't like to be called evil or a glitch. Template creates things by drawing on a digital grid, and 'glitches' them into existence by touching them. He can create almost anything this way. Template loves to play the hero, so he makes dramatic appearances and poses. He has the same color scheme as Error, but has different eye markings and clothes. His right eye is white, and his left eye is in a diamond shape with soft edges, with yellow being the outside of the diamond, blue being the inside, and black as his pupil. He wears a blue scarf and a hoodie around his waist, with a red and black shirt and black and blue pants. He usually wears glasses to be able to see, which have a red frame. He carries a black pen instead of a brush, with a ring around the tip of his pen which changes color randomly. He wears multicolored sneakers, which are yellow, blue, and black with red Velcro straps. Near the upper part of his pen(where the eraser would be, if it was a pencil) has a holographic blue ring around it which says “ERROR” on it. The markings on his face resemble an angle gauge. His eye markings ‘bleed’ down and start to look more and more like Errors’ markings the more he dips into insanity.[1]
Pale[]
Since Pale came into existence without a SOUL, he is incapable of feeling real emotions. He spent a lot of time in the void until he decided to look for what he was missing. He wasn't successful, however he was able to find a substitute. By draining creativity from existing AUs, he was able to gain emotions, if not for a long period of time, leading him to jump from universe to universe in order to feel something, leaving drained AUs behind that would fade to white until they ceased to exist. Driven by the emptiness inside of him, he is bound to repeat the cycle of destruction over and over again. Pale appears very ineloquent, giving very minimalistic responses if any. However, his personality underlies heavy mood swings since most AUs would only give him one feeling or a very limited range of emotions. Since it is never certain what kind of emotion he will gain by draining an AU, he also has no preferences and will drain any universe he comes across. If he drains an AU, the impact on him can vary. The intensity and color of his eyes indicate what emotions he gained and how strong they are(will always fade after a while again). Sometimes he's not able to understand his obtained feelings. The emotions he gains depend on the creators' emotions while creating the AU, not on the emotions present in the AU itself. A blank stare is his trademark reaction towards everything. Pale isn't wearing gloves, the bones of his forearm and hand palms are grey. He has the same markings as Ink, but he won't try to hide or explain them. Pale has bags under his eyesockets almost all the time. He wears a white turtleneck sweater, a light blue jacket with fluff on the edges of the hood with a faded red scarf tied around his arm and beige shorts. He typically wears grey and white sneakers. He uses black ink to attack. The ink can stick to everything and slow opponents down or completely immobilize them. Pale 'bleeds' ink out of his mouth when using this(not harmful).[2]
