ProemTale is an Undertale AU that acts as the setting for A Whole Person's "Determination" Charisk fanfiction series, with a story spanning from the creation of its universe to after a completed True Pacifist run. The focus of ProemTale is on the development of the romantic relationship between Chara and Frisk.
It began publication in March of 2020 as a simple Charisk Fanfiction story, but its scope widened as more attention was brought to the overarching plot and magic system. Within the bounds of the story, ProemTale was the first and only universe, due to the existence of the primordial God, Toubi Diitii. This changed after the death of Wing Ding Gaster at the hands of his artificial SAVE point, which gave rise to the multiverse, and Undertale as the most common AU. This multiverse is separate from the UTAU Multiverse, and is completely confined to the ProemTale story. Other multiversal beings such as: Ink!sans, Error!sans, and CORE!Frisk are separate entities with separate motives to the counterparts found within the ProemTale multiverse.
Chara, Frisk, and Frisk's ancestors are reincarnations of the evil God, Diitii Fox, and possess the SOUL of Determination. Due to Diitii being the creator and source of all Determination, only one red SOUL should exist at any time, and Frisk is the current incarnation by bloodright. Chara, however, was also born with a red SOUL for unknown reasons. This event divided and weakened the consciousness and influence of Diitii Fox. Chara was reawakened as a ghost when Frisk fell into Mt. Ebott as a result of their shared connection to Diitii, and the ability to persist after death granted by Determination.

Frisk Archer is one of the main protagonists of the first and third books in the series. She is not a silent protagonist, but an independent and dynamic character. Frisk was born on September 28th, 420 FKE (Four Kings Era), to unnamed parents, and fell into the underground a few weeks before her 18th birthday. She is of Middle-Eastern descent, with lightly tanned skin that appeared gold in the Underground due to the lack of sunlight. Her eye color changes depending on the magic affecting her SOUL at any given time. Her natural eye color has not been revealed, and is predominantly Red. She was born blind with a magical sixth sense, allowing her to discern her environment. Shortly before the events of Determination, she spontaneously gained eyesight for unknown reasons. Her outfit begins as a dark blue hoodie with purple sleeves and hood, and jean shorts. This is eventually replaced by the iconic two-magenta-striped sweater that harkens back to the source material.
Frisk is kind, sweet, and compassionate, but very insecure about anything regarding their past on the surface. She has a passion for cooking and all things food-related, likely a result from her being intentionally starved during her early childhood. She enjoys when Chara speaks Spanish, and despite stating otherwise, when he tells bad jokes. Frisk is deeply connected to the magic of the world and the cosmic laws of magic and physics, the GML. Through this, she is able to inadvertently cast Red Magic to manipulate reality. She has very little control over this until she gains access to the very peak of her powers, The Buttons. Frisk is able to use FIGHT, ACT, ITEM, and MERCY in order to aid her in battle. Due to her vast amounts of Determination, she is able to SAVE, LOAD, and RESET at designated SAVE Shards; yellow crystals which can only be seen by her around the Underground.
Her mother was the prior incarnation Diitii Fox, and died during childbirth in order to pass on the SOUL of Determination. Her father was incredibly abusive during her early childhood, and she was relocated to live with her Aunt Rose Archer-Fuji and Uncle Michael Archer. The Archer Bloodline has been the servants of Diitii Fox since he first reincarnated as a human, and the SOUL of Determination is what carries his curse. Frisk is the current main avatar of Diitii Fox. Frisk sometimes loses control of her mind and body to Diitii, and this can result in many consequences such as when she succeeded in committing genocide on monsterkind, before loading her SAVE in Snowdin Town. While LOADing, she was attacked by Chara, who had been possessed by Diitii. Using what little Red Magic she had access to at the time, she managed to LOAD without a functioning SOUL. Her SOUL has a faint scar down the center where it initially broke. This has also placed a scar on her mind, which has allowed Diitii to more actively influence her thoughts and actions.
Frisk's connection to Diitii Fox resulted in her being influenced to fall down Mt. Ebott, in order to reawaken Chara with Red Magic. Due to their forced proximity, Chara and Frisk fall in love. They spend much time during Frisk's journey in the Underground working on and furthering their relationship. Despite her disposition for evil, she fights to do the right thing, and is given the position of Ambassador to Monsterkind by King Asgore Dreemurr upon liberating them from the Underground.
