Murdertale is an AU that takes place at the same time as Undertale, but all monsters are either insane or more aggressive, with the exception of Flowey, who tries to help Frisk. Monster insanity began as a result of a disease that took hold after the death of Asriel Dreemurr. Asgore was not immediately affected due to his high immune system at the time.
When Frisk falls to the Underground, they meet many monsters, who they teach to be kind. Many of the monsters are originally resistant to the idea, but soon realize that kindness has true benefits.
The owner used to ship Frans, but no longer does.
Characters[]
Alphys[]
Alphys built Mettaton to kill humans, but will sometimes attack them herself. She has no feelings for Asgore; she only likes Undyne. This feeling is not mutual until the ending, when Undyne and Alphys see each other for the first time.
Flowey[]
Flowey is very helpful, but also terrified of everyone who lives in the Underground, especially Sans, since he tried to kill Flowey on multiple occasions. Flowey isn't very powerful, but can use his Friendliness Pellets to heal humans. Flowey originally became Frisk's companion because he felt bad for them, but was attacked by Toriel and remembered his Kill or be Killed motto
Frisk[]
Frisk is the last human that fell into the Underground. They are kind and helpful, and always try their best to make other people happy. They enjoy jokes (especially puns) and pie, but dislike dark humor.
Toriel[]
Toriel is the former wife of Asgore, who also went insane. She is a kind and motherly monster, but can be cunning and cruel at times, especially when disobeyed
Papyrus[]
Papyrus is Sans’s brother. He instated a policy of his own about capturing humans: All humans must be subjected to puzzles before they are captured. He also cares for Sans, due to him being Papyrus's only family. Papyrus does not understand Sans' increased aggression towards everything, and constantly berates him for it. Papyrus's skull has a large crack in it.
Sans[]
Sans was the first monster to go insane, and attacked Grillby, killing him in the process, although, he now exclusively turns his aggression towards humans. He cares more for Papyrus than anything else, and sometimes kills humans to make their meat into steaks. He doesn't really understand why Frisk is so kind, but he does try his best to reciprocate their kindness. Sans always attacks them no matter what they did. His "Bad Time" Eye is red, which symbolizes hatred.
Undyne[]
Undyne is the captain of the royal guard, but due to the fact she went insane, she acts more aggressive, her spears are faster and deal more damage and she no longer uses green soul mode.
Mettaton[]
Mettaton is not the star of the Underground, and his anti-human weapons were never changed. Mettaton enjoys killing humans, and cares for Alphys.
Asgore[]
Asgore became bitter and went insane after his son's death, instating a policy that all humans will be killed and their bodies harvested to make new monsters.
Locations[]
The Ruins[]
The Ruins are very dark, with barely any monsters appearing in them. only crucial corridors and puzzle rooms are lit up.
Snowdin[]
Snowdin appears as it normally does in Undertale, with the exception of Grillby's.
Waterfall[]
Waterfall is largely unchanged, except for the fact that all the Woshua's have died and their dust litters the location.
Hotland[]
Hotland has become derelict and slightly warm, rather than extremely hot. The only known monsters that live in Hotland are Alphys and Mettaton.
New Home[]
New Home has no differences to classic New Home, apart from all the human blood, and the factory filled with human bodies.
