Greattale is an Undertale AU with only 3 timelines, one neutral, one genocide and a last special genocide one. After these 3 timelines, the AU is to self-destroy. The special genocide one contains anomalies. Sans became one and another character appeared. In this AU, some Undertale characters don't appear, such as Flowey.
Characters[]
Undertale Characters[]
Asriel[]
In the prologue, Asriel acts like in Undertale, except he doesn't absorb Chara's soul after a suicide. He dies from a sickness instead.
Chara[]
In the beginning of the prologue, Chara acts like in Undertale, except they do not commit suicide in the story. Instead, Asgore claims that a monster's death is Chara's fault, which makes them flee at Sans and Papyrus's. They the only human to have magic in Greattale, training for it.[1] They also like jokes.
According to the author, Chara's sex is open for interpretation.[2][3]
Asgore[]
He appears in the prologue, believing that Chara killed a monster. Because of this, he makes an announcement of war against humanity by claiming that Chara killed Asriel.
Toriel[]
Toriel is so kind at the point to be unable to attack a child. However, she left New Home to go to the ruins when Asgore implemented the anti-human policy. Her kindness is her weak point, proven by how she always finish to be killed in one attack, in the three timelines.
Sans[]
Sans is a lazy skeleton who likes jokes, during the neutral route and the prologue. But, during the genocide route, he shows his real personality. He's at the same time nice and mean. He looks the same as his Undertale counterpart, but in the special genocide route, he only has one arm, the other one being cut. He also has new abilities in this route. He survived to the destruction of his AU.
Papyrus[]
Papyrus is serious, but mostly nice, the main difference being that he would never hesitate to kill. During the neutral route, he is spared and becomes the king. In the genocide and genocide special routes, he has his own fight, but is killed by Frisk. He doesn't like joke. He is confirmed to be enhanced by G.[1]
Frisk[]
Male in this AU,[3] Frisk is a crazy kid who likes to beat and kill every human or monster he encounters. He fell in the Underground on purpose since he heard of the existence of the monsters in a legend.
Alphys[]
Alphys is relatively the same as her Undertale counterpart. The main difference is that she never did experiments in the True lab, so she never created the amalgamates.
Mettaton[]
Mettaton is a robot who looks like the EX form of it's Undertale counterpart, with long, mauve hair, a red scarf, and mauve right eye and a red left eye. They are one of the strongest characters in Greattale.[1]
As stated by the author, their sex is open for interpretation.[3]
Gaster[]
Gaster is Sans's, Papyrus's and Greaty's father, a scientist who wants the monsters to win the human-monster war, and dies not long after he had an idea to do so.
As shown in Xénotale: Celerity -a story made by one of the members of the Greattale team-, Great!Gaster became a ghost who follows Opposite!Sans and who gives him advice about how to act.
Added Characters[]
Calibri[]
A scientist who worked on an idea to make the monsters win the human-monster war, and who hired Dunamiz to make him do some missions that would make the monsters win the human-monster war. He ended up having what he want, but Greaty had disappeared. Calibri then kidnapped Sans and Papyrus. After some time, he gets impatient, insults Greaty, which makes Sans and Papyrus kill him.
Dunamiz[]
The most powerful monster of Greattale, which is a mercenary. He is the one who kills Gaster. Not long after that, he starts killing as much people as possible, regardless of their species after being touched by dust. Later, he is killed by Greaty.
G[]
G is the second anomaly in the special genocide route. They are the one who trained Sans in this route. They survived to the destruction of his AU. After the destruction of Greattale, they did experiments on his son Opposite!Sans.
According to the author, their sex is open for interpretation.[3]
Innovation!Sans[]
Innovation!Sans is the one who created Greattale, and who did the mistake that led the AU to self-destroy after 3 timelines.
Malediction (Greaty)[]
Malediction is one of Gaster's sons, who likes to do experiments on determination, while taking care of his brothers when their father cannot. After Gaster's death, his goal becomes to kill Dunamiz. Though he does that, he also trains his little brothers to survive in the world they are in. He absorbs a lot of determination later, killing Dunamiz but getting cursed. He then gets to the Cursed Void and calls himself Malediction. Some years after the destruction of Greattale, he created a Sans named Opposite!Sans with his and G's DNA, and did experiments on him.
Noname[]
A spoiler character who has little information known about them, except that they have some similarities with Fake!Chara from Xénotale,<ref name= "Chara magic"> and that their sex is open for interpretation.[3]
Opposite!Sans[]
Opposite is Malediction's creation, who created him with his and G's DNA. Both did experiments on him, making him flee and study the AUs. He fought Great!Sans but lost the fight.
