EpicTale is a comic AU created by Yugogeer on Tumblr, was owned by Timeless Dubs for a time, but has been reclaimed by Yugogeer as of June 2019.[1]
Chara wondered why their soul was colorless. It took time for Chara to realize why their soul was different. They started acting unusual, which led to them harming Asgore and everybody else. Undyne attempted to stop Chara, while everybody evacuated the battleground. Sans eventually took over after Undyne did the best she could to defeat them.
Turns out Chara was being possessed and influenced and Sans realizing this meets Frisk, a version that controls six other human souls when he goes looking for Chara who is with Asriel. Turns out Frisk lured them there in a petty revenge ploy for an alternate reality wrong caused them by the Dreemurr family.
The first stage of the comic ends with the erasure of the monster kingdom at the hands of Frisk. Frisk Resets after killing both Asriel and Chara and the second arc of the comic starts with a redesigned and perhaps younger Sans meeting a naive alternate Frisk.
According to the remake Yugo is making, the first comic is no longer canon due to a full reset taking place.[2]
The new rendition begins with Frisk's fall into the underground with a still alive though younger Chara and Asriel living a peaceful life with the Dreemurr family. They are taken in and adopted by the king and queen before having their soul ripped out by Gaster who wishes to use their power to wipe out humanity.

Undertale Characters[]
Epic!Sans[]
Sans (he calls himself Epic!Sans) has some changes in his behavior. Also, he isn't lazy and always keeps his promises. He is Asgore's childhood friend, and it's insinuated he got Tori and Asgore together because he's referred to as the king's wingman. He likes to say 'Bruh' often, sometimes replacing words with it and generally acts like an anime obsessed nerd similar to Alphys, going so far as to give himself the title of Epic!Sans. He tends to be a huge flirt to anyone he finds cute and has a cookie addiction. Whenever he's around his best friend Cross he often engages in meme related antics. He can be serious and shows an unexpected maturity when doing so even though he still uses his favorite phrase. Often times the left socket where his scar is will be empty, a purple eye light only spawning when he's emotionally high strung or intimidating. He is 45 years old.[3] He is the royal scientist and is the boss of Mettaton and Alphys and is currently deceased.
Gaster[]
Gaster is Sans and Papyrus's father in this AU. He is implied to have created a universe with Neutral!Frisk in it, and then when that universe was destroyed, he created the universe in which the remake happened. He then entered and interacted with his creation. He killed Frisk and absorbed their soul but was destroyed by their determination. Upon his return to life 6 years later, he no longer has his abilities like he once had, only Frisk's power. [4] Recently, after absorbing Sans and Papyrus's eyes he re-obtained his body. Stated by Yugo (Maybe as a joke) He likes to say dad jokes, also proved in "Hi confused, I'm dad." His personality is similar to his children's, as he describes himself as "The Magnificent Gaster" and makes puns mid-battle. He intends to eradicate humanity despite claiming not to hate them.
Papyrus[]
Papyrus is the vice-captain of the royal guard (in the first season). He is 22 (in the first season and probably in the second season too) and they (Sans and Papyrus) have a big white dog called "Fox." He is the holder of Gaster's other eye, but has it taken away from him in the latest settlement, he is very naïve and innocent, and VERY pure. He is currently deceased and in the remake, he is 17.
Chara[]
Chara is 10 and Asriel is 9 in the first rendition but are both 16 in the remake[5]. Both of them wear a kind of royal outfit instead of classic striped shirts. Though the outfits have been changed back to the default in the remake. In the remake, they are now a teenager with a large knife as a weapon of choice, they also have red and black striped clothes and a brown belt. Their clothes contain a mini cape which requires a fan to have an anime cape swoop. They are playful with Asriel, usually hitting them due to many reasons. It is still unknown if Chara possesses the ability to timeline-jump.
Asriel[]
Asriel is 16 in the remake and 9 in the original. He has a cyan cape mainly and presumably a striped shirt underneath. He is both Chara's best friend and sibling, and they often torment each other like every other sibling. His first teenage appearance is in the official remake cover, then in Cape-swoop 0.2. And yes, he did appear in the official comic.
Paci!Frisk[]
Paci!Frisk, previously 8 but now 11, was the second human to fall into the Underground in the original rendition of Epictale. However, they're the first in the remake. They dislike violence and enjoy hugs. They like making friends, flirting, and anything sweet. They have very strong determination, like the canon Frisk.
Undyne[]
Undyne has yellow spears instead of cyan/light blue. She is the captain of the royal guard in the original and the remake. In the remake, she is the coach of Chara, teaching them how to fight. She has a changed design for the remake, apparently, she also has a British accent. It is revealed she has a powered mode similar to Mettaton, and is able to summon sharks as an attack.
Mettaton[]
Mettaton is the scientist besides Alphys and Sans. In Epictale, Mettaton is she in the original comic but has had a gender change to male for the remake. His behavior is serious, and he seems to enjoy the children's company. He dislikes Sans' behavior the majority of the time. He also doesn't have a Neo form; however, his box form is a heart monitor.[6] He is one of the only monsters who remembers Frisk. His glasses conceal his 'true form' similar to Undertale Mettaton.
Napstablook[]
Napstablook is an assistant of Mettaton's, Alphys, and Sans. In a non-canon comic, Alphys and Sans made an anime body for them, which Mettaton disapproved of.
Toriel and Asgore[]
Toriel and Asgore are still married. It seems that Asgore enjoys being the 'meme mate' of Sans, but it appears that Toriel dislikes this (Though more often Yugo has Jakei's Cross as the true 'meme mate' of Sans). Toriel and Asgore are the strongest monsters in Epictale, with Sans being the weakest (presumably not counting all the minor characters). Apparently, if Epic!Toriel uses all her strength, she can destroy the multiverse easily, and X-Gaster, who possesses the Overwrite button. (stated by Yugo to be a joke so don't take this part a canon in any way)
Muffet[]
In the official Epic!Muffet reference, it's shown that she has a creepy side. She dislikes Chara due to them not paying for their chocolate. Her sweets, stated by Chara, are the best in the Underground. She is exceptionally powerful, as demonstrated when her true form intimidated Gaster's mindless zombies.
Mad Mew Mew[]
A famous celebrity of the Underground. She is Muffet's rival though they share similar traits they differ in their hobbies often leading to conflict. She is considered a dark magical girl.

Red[]
In this AU, Red is present, a fan character created by Taxiderby. In this AU, she is called Lara, and she is Mettaton's cousin. It seems that Lara has a crush on Papyrus, she is also a member of the royal guard.
Neutral Frisk[]
Neutral Frisk and the human souls that accompany them aren't from this universe originally, revealing that in their conflict with Sans. They are the main antagonist for the original rendition of Epictale. However, it appears they will not be making a return as confirmed by Yugo,[7] though they have recently been showcased and referenced along with the erasure of the original timeline of Epictale in most recent chapters. It is hinted at that they worked with Gaster in the original rendition of Epictale, the souls they carried being artificial and gifted to them by the Royal Scientist. [8]
The rebooted Neutral Frisk has a separate story explaining their backstory called Endless Route.
Muffin[]
She is Muffet's half older Russian sister. She has an obsession with weapons.

- According to Yugo, Asgoriel, Alphyne, and Papyred are the only three canon couples in Epictale.[citation needed]
- Paci!Frisk's and Chara’s biological sex is female and Neutral!Frisk's biological sex is male. All three of them go by “they/them” pronouns in the original rendition of Epictale. This is changed to them both (Chara and Paci!Frisk) being non-binary in the remake.[9]
- Epic Sans has an official theme in Underverse called Bruh.
- Epic Gaster and X-Gaster hate each other, and Epic Gaster admires Undertale Gaster.
- "Darker Yet Darker" and "Seems Very Interesting" are what influenced Epic-Gaster's backstory.
- Papyrus was born with his eye. Sans's eye is artificial.
- Sans never had a good night's sleep after he received the eye from Gaster (poor dude, that's like 20 years).
- Mad Mew Mew has a bigger chest size than Muffet.[10]
- Yugo dislikes Sans because people just see him as a meme now.
- Sans, Papyrus, Gaster, Toriel, Asgore, Asriel and Red are heterosexual, Muffet, Frisk, Undyne, Alphys and Mad Mew Mew are bisexual, and Chara and Mettaton are asexual.[11]

- Yugo doesn't like shitposts with Epic, especially ones with Cross.
- The first Gaster design in the remake was skinny rather than buff, but Yugo changed his mind about that design and made him like how we see him today.[13]
- Mettaton's glasses repress his emotions and his affection energy, as when he takes them off, he can show the full capability of them.[14]
- Grillby is made out of water instead of fire.
- Underverse is canon to Epictale.[15]
