Dawnbreak takes place in the same universe as Kingdom Come. It is highly advised by the author that the reader visit Kingdom Come first, as it contains vital information to Dawnbreak's plot. It is 327 years after the events in the 3 part trilogy, and a vast majority of the story takes place up on the surface. The story follows Asriel, now possessing seven human souls, as he wages war against humanity, in the fictional Roneian Empire. The time period is early 1800's. Asriel though, eventually finds himself fighting a second, much more personal war, which could result in his own demise.
