Alphatale was the first AU to form in the Multiverse. Back during the Human-Monster War, through the use of a grand experiment, the Monsters had managed to claim victory. Afterwards, the Monsters decided to remain in the Underground and work on building up their grand nation. Eventually, when Asriel was being born, Toriel passed away during child-birth, and Asriel soon perished as well. This event caused great grief to fall upon Asgore, and he shut himself away within his castle. Soon after Asgore too passed on, leaving the throne open and unclaimed. After some time, the Astral Mother claimed the throne, and took rule over the nation of Monsters.

The Astral Mother: Ruler of the Underground and Mother/Adopted Mother of her children
William: Eldest son of the Astral Mother and one of the only other survivors of Alphatale's Destruction
Adam: Second son of the Astral Mother and died during the destruction of Alphatale.
Delios: third "son" and defender of the underground
Quenya: Champion of the Human and Monster war and the adopted mother of the first two sons of the Astral Mother
Aurora: Entertainment and Combat Droid of the Underground
Muffet: Revolutionary and the Astral Mother's biggest enemy towards her rule
Frisk: Human from the surface
Chara: Human from the surface and caretaker of the Ruins and snowdin entrance
Roki: experiment of the Astral Mother
Ares: Youngest Son of the Void Empress and keeper of the Book of Eyes
Jacob: Eldest Son of the Void Empress and sole cause of the destruction of Alphatale.

Team Lavender, the group that officially owns Alphatale, consists of four primary members: SHADIKAL15 (the creator, current leader of the team), Alphasaith (adviser), Bladeinthelight (adviser), and Kagami Shinami (Artist).
- While it is frequently stated that only one person owns Alphatale, the AU is collectively owned by the four people listed above.
